hadros Recruitment is working alongside an international technology consulting firm that is looking for a ESG Social Specialist to join their rapidly growing team in Asia to deliver innovative strategy solutions addressing complex problems surrounding the decarbonization of energy, mining and energy-intensive industries.
The dedicated Social Specialist will focus on the social aspects of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. This role will involve working closely with our clients, including investors and infrastructure developers, to conduct thorough due diligence on the social impacts of their projects and portfolios. The consultant will ensure adherence to ESG standards while providing strategic guidance to enhance social responsibility within client operations.

The dedicated Social Specialist will focus on the social aspects of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. This role will involve working closely with our clients, including investors and infrastructure developers, to conduct thorough due diligence on the social impacts of their projects and portfolios. The consultant will ensure adherence to ESG standards while providing strategic guidance to enhance social responsibility within client operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead Social Expert on projects Experience on acting as a social expert on projects including Social Safeguards Commitment Plan (SSCP), Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Social Safeguards Management Plan (SMP), Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Gender Action Plan (GAP) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Managing the delivery of major international ESDD, ESMS, identification of mitigation measures, preparation of E&S management plans and E&S monitoring and performance services on major international projects for investors and lenders including Multi Lateral Banks Defining appropriate corrective action plans, and measures for follow-up verification;
- Conducting high level verification of on site stakeholder management through meetings and discussions.
- Providing assistance to clients in meeting international lender standards and advise on international best practice in social performance;
- Supporting the development and implementation of social and environmental management systems;
- Have a deep understanding of international Social safeguards, E&S standards, incl. Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements, World Bank EHS Guidelines.
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments, regulations and standards in the ESG space;
- Delivery of work through well written and succinct reports and presentations to clients; Technical support to various team members to identify social risks and manage those risks;
- Compiling analysis and preparation of deliverables to contribute to the completion of multiple engagement phases of a project.
- Demonstrate capabilities with low level of supervision Support sustainability and decarbonization related project activities
- Guide and mentor more junior colleagues, share specialist knowledge with the broader Global Advisory team Support proposal development activities under the supervision of project and proposal management professionals
Preferred Qualifications
- A Masters or Bachelors Degree in Social Science, or similar
- At least 7 years of ESG (Social) experience within the Infrastructure sector
- Proven experience developing business strategies in energy
- Desire to work in face-paced, start-up like environment where
- Deep understanding of current policy and mega trends as the energy ecosystem
- Successfully managing multiple engagements simultaneously
- Ability to travel up to 50%
